All kinds of stuff (goods and services) are available on the darknet markets, although the idea has travelled to imaginary territory. Darknet markets have popped up in recent times in large numbers, the inauguration was made by Silk Road 1.0 which have been taken down by law enforcement agencies. The Marlert was the first online drug market that had in their catalogue drugs, arms and ammunition, counterfeit currencies to name a few and was owned by Ross Ulbricht. Most of the Darknet markets that have been in operations or have been defunct are hosted on Tor network which was actually designed and created by the United States military.

While there are quite a few .onion sites links that sell things to customers, some of the major markets are AlphaBay, Dream market, Valhalla (Silkkitie), Outlaw market, Hansa market, Tochka market, Silk Road 2.0 to name a few are most prominent. By the way all the markets mentioned in the list do not operate but some of them are still in operations. In addition to these markets, there is also a peer to peer market that exists called Openbazaar which has in their stock all variety of goods (not necessarily all illegal). This market place is a bit unique when compared with other markets because you need to download and install a program that will stay connected with the market.

Each of the market vendors operates independently so it has more in common like a P2P flea market that uses Bitcoin in payment. All these markets have .onion links as an extension. Do not expect that these Darknet markets will appear when you type in “drug store” in DuckDuckGo (Tor search engine). You have to get hold of the .onion sites link if you want to view their listing or place an order at their portal.
